GuidesImporting your figures from QuickBooks or Xero

Importing your figures from QuickBooks or Xero

If you already use QuickBooks or Xero, there is no need to copy your figures across by hand. Here is how the import works and what it does for you.

How it works

You connect your QuickBooks Online or Xero account securely, and OneFiler reads your year-end figures to populate your accounts and tax return.

The connection uses the accounting software’s own secure sign-in, so OneFiler never sees your QuickBooks or Xero password.

What happens to the connection afterwards

Access is revoked as soon as your import completes, and you can disconnect at any time. The connection exists to save you data entry, not to monitor your books.

You remain in control

Imported figures are a starting point — you review everything before filing, and you can adjust anything that needs it.

If you prefer to enter your figures manually, that works in exactly the same way; the import is simply a shortcut.

Common questions

Does OneFiler store my QuickBooks or Xero data?

The imported figures are used to populate your filing and are not retained as a copy of your books. The connection tokens are stored encrypted and deleted once the import completes.

What if my books are in different software, or on a spreadsheet?

You can enter your year-end figures manually — the rest of the filing works exactly the same way.
